Attention to the reduction of packaging

Within Deli Home, we believe it is important to work safely with complete respect for people, property and the environment. That is why we are always looking for ways to leave the smallest possible footprint on this earth.

Balance

Wood products need protection (and therefore packaging) during transport, but by being smart with our own residual material and the packaging of suppliers that remains
in the production process, we avoid waste which benefits the environment. It is important to find the right balance; naturally products must be protected during transport.

Reducing at the source

Several suppliers have already made the first reductions by reusing beams and bottom and top plates. We do our best to use only the most necessary packaging materials.

Reuse of pallets and foil

Pallets of goods arriving in Gorinchem are collected and retrieved by the supplier for reuse. In addition, two locations have been designated for the collection of packaging materials, intended for reuse; one for cardboard and one for foil. Several suppliers have now arranged to reduce their packaging materials.

CSR focus points

This initiative also fits very well with our CSR focus points up to 2025:

Reduction in packaging and materials needed for transportation in the chain by 10% in sales in 2025 compared to 2020
Reduction of waste by 10% by weight by 2025 compared to 2020.
