Deli Home is expanding its Benelux-position in the production and distribution of sustainable wooden building materials

Deli Home, Houtwerf and Distri-Hout join forces in the Benelux

Deli Home, the leading manufacturer and distributor of wooden building materials, decorative interior concepts and doors, has taken a 50% interest in Houtwerf in the Netherlands and will merge its Belgian activities with Distri-Hout. Houtwerf and Distri-Hout serve do-it-yourself retailers, building materials wholesalers and specialized furnishers and construction companies in the Netherlands and Belgium with sustainable, wood-based building materials. Houtwerf is known for its sustainable character with a series of circular innovations including Powerplex Bio, the only high-quality plywood board that contains bio-based glue and is free of toxic substances such as formaldehyde. The companies share a commitment to using only 100% FSC/PEFC certified wood, as the most sustainable and renewable raw material. With this transaction, Deli Home strengthens its position in Europe in the field of sustainable wood products.

Eugène Sterken, CEO of Deli Home, is pleased: “We are enthusiastic about the possibilities we see for our customers at home and abroad with the exclusive, sustainable and circular products from Houtwerf and Distri-Hout. In addition, we benefit from the extensive knowledge that both companies have on this important subject. By welcoming Houtwerf and Distri-Hout, we also mark a new milestone in our growth strategy. We look forward to continuing to work with our new colleagues on our ambition to make wood-based custom solutions for beautifying and renovating homes digitally easier and accessible to everyone.”

Henri Verbeek, Managing Director of Distri-Hout: "We have been working successfully with Deli Home for more than 10 years in our French joint venture AJ Timber. This far-reaching collaboration gives us the opportunity to accelerate our growth plans in the Benelux while maintaining the high level of service to our customers. Moreover, together with our customers, we can benefit from Deli Home's broader range and the progressive digital custom solutions."

Pieter Verbeek, Managing Director of Houtwerf, adds: “We are convinced that in Deli Home we have found the right partner for the next phase of our companies. Together with our employees, we look forward to continuing our work, now supplemented with all the options that Deli Home offers.”
