An important sustainability milestone with 100% FSC and PEFC-certified assortment from Deli Home in Europe
Deli Home, the leading manufacturer and distributor of sustainable, wood-based building materials, decorative interior concepts and doors for home improvement and renovation, has reached an important milestone: its complete assortment in Europe now consists of 100% FSC and PEFC-certified wood. By achieving this milestone, Deli Home underlines its dedication to responsible forest management and a sustainable wood chain.
Eugène Sterken, CEO of Deli Home: “With an assortment of nearly 9,000 wood-based products and 300 international suppliers, this switch to fully certified wood is a fantastic achievement. It shows that together, we can do amazing things. In combination with our digital customised solutions and optimal logistics flows, we are a reliable and innovative partner for our customers in effectively achieving sustainability ambitions throughout the chain. And that’s something we’re incredibly proud of!”
30 years ago, Deli Home was one of the founders of FSC Nederland and has since consistently and consciously chosen to lead the way towards 100% certified wood. However, Erik Meijerink, Head of Operational Excellence & ESG emphasises that Deli Home does not consider this milestone as the ultimate goal but as motivation for more impact. “It confirms that we are going in the right direction to become a net-zero company. In line with our SBTi commitment, we will continue innovating alongside our partners. We are committed to using certified wood as the most sustainable and renewable material, the only building material of the future.”
